Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales is a computer game developed by Akella, the creators of the acclaimed pirate simulations Sea Dogs and Pirates of the Caribbean

Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales is a naval game devoted to pirate adventures at the Caribbean seas of the 17th century. This game allows players to explore 16 different islands in the seemingly endless sea waters of the living Caribbean. In Age of Pirates you play as a freebooter looking for fame and fortune on the high seas. You can choose to play as either a male or female character, and you start off with a modest ship and crew, and may then proceed to go wherever you like in the Caribbean.

Main Character

Blaze Sharp and Beatrice Sharp.

Gameplay

There are several different game elements both on land and sea. First, sailing on the map: time is sped up to compensate for the travel around the map; as you sail around several of the Caribbean islands you can choose to enter ports, attack ships or sail through storms. Second, sailing in real time: on the sea is where the sea battles take place, as well as real-time sailing; also sailing through storms takes place in real time. And the last, on foot: there are many different things you can do on foot; a few of these are fighting in boarding actions, fighting a captain one-on-one, and walking around town gathering sailors and supplies.
